The lesson with my teacher was a lot of fun! I’m still struggling with very basic vocab and sentence structure, but I really enjoy taking first stabs at having a conversation. It’s a lot of fun!

She is super patient and I have the suspicion she can read minds, because she often guesses what I want to say when I’m struggling to remember some words. Looking forward to our next lesson!

After using Mingo Space I have learnt to speak Malay much more efficiently than I could ever learn using any learning apps. The teachers always adapt their material to your specific needs and focus on areas that you may need extra work in. I also started learning Mandarin with Mingo Space from scratch and after only 2 lessons, I gained much more confidence and learnt to hold fluent, basic conversations.

During the lessons, we do conversation practice and exam preparation. I wasn’t very good at talking before, but now I can speak more positively. Thank you for teaching me new words and correct sentences all the time.

After studying two foreign languages in college, I knew my biggest learning hurdles were listening and pronunciation. For my third language, I wanted to try a new approach, and practicing with Rachael 1-on-1 turned out to be phenomenal.

Her lessons are very well put together, and I appreciate how she is always ready to pivot from her plan to focus on areas that I need extra practice. I am honestly surprised how far I have come in only three months.

I’ve had a number of Malay language lessons with Rachael and I enjoy each session very much. Rachael always prepares interesting conversation topics beforehand. The diversity in the topics allows me to utilise and learn a wider range of vocabulary and to practise my speaking skills. There is never an awkward or silent moment because Rachael is able to ask follow-up questions to keep the discussion flowing.

Above all, I love that Rachael brings positive and cheerful energy into each session. Although I am an introvert, in Rachael’s lessons I’m not afraid of making mistakes, asking questions, or to be corrected by her. She’s a patient and supportive teacher who cultivates a safe space for her students to learn.

Rachael is a very good teacher. If she see’s that you are struggling, she finds ways to help you either remember, explain the meaning, or how it is pronounced. In learning with her, I always feel that time goes by too fast as well as making learning very enjoyable. She is very prepared and professional for every lesson.

I feel very accomplished after each lesson by either surprising myself with what I remember from prior. It also helps me know if I need to go back to prior lessons to review and refresh my understanding what I was struggling with. I highly recommend learning with Rachael.

I have been a Mandarin student of Rachael’s for five months. I have been very impressed with both her capability and style. As an adult, my study is somewhat different from a primary-school student. Rachael is able to adapt her approach to my age and level of understanding. She provides challenging assignments each week and verbal feedback during our lesson. She then provides written notes on the assignment as well as on other topics during our lesson.

Finally, I note that Rachael is a fluent English speaker, both in terms of pronunciation and grammar, which positions her above many other Mandarin teachers whose English may not as good. Overall, I am very happy to study with Rachael and plan to continue my lessons.
